jess in buggy.JPG Cycle Matters is a mobile bicycle service run by Nigel Gardner, with the primary aim of fixing bicycles.
When not cycling on the South Downs with his collie, Jess, or road riding (without) Nigel's favourite place is in his workshop working on a bike. Nigel's knowledge comes from a love of mechanics (has an HND in mechanical Engineering) and 30 years professional engineering experience. Nigel is also a Cytech trained bicycle mechanic.
Based in Worthing Nigel can often be seen 'towing' Jess in the Dog buggy down to the beach or nearby parks. Stop and say 'Hello' and you will get a friendly and maybe noisy reception!
Cycle Matters was set up with the aim of providing a personal, friendly, affordable and quality mobile service to cyclists of all kinds. Recognising that it is not always convenient to get to a bike shop we will come to your home or place of work (or where you may be stranded) and fix your bike on the spot if a simple job or provide a collection / delivery service if not.
Since 2010 we have supported Chichester District Council on various cycling initiatives including Dr. Bike sessions and developing / delivering basic bicycle maintenance training. We believe in empowering people to be able to keep their bikes running smoothly in between service intervals and being able to fix punctures and basic road-side repairs. In 2012 we plan to extend our training sessions within West Sussex so please watch this space.
